A HUGE Thank You!

Mike and I just want to say Thank You to all of our Friends and Family who attended and were part of our wedding, especially those who came from far away! It was great to have all of you present and share in our special day! To those of our friends and family who were not able to make it, you were missed greatly!

We hope that everyone will keep in touch with us and let us know how you are doing! We hope to see you all again soon! All of the pictures from the wedding should be up soon! There are links to some of the websites with pictures to the left of this page. If you cannot access any of the sites, please let me know and I can email them to you!

Love,
Michael and Suzanne Caruso

Honeymooning in Antigua

Bright and early Monday morning after the Wedding, we were headed to Antigua for our honeymoon! Our flight left at at 630 a.m. so we had to be at the airport at about 445a.m. We got to Antigua at about 2p.m. Needless to say right after we got off of the airplane, what do you know, rain! We had brought the rain with us. It really only lasted a few minutes but it was a little ironic. A shuttle took us to Sandals, and I have to say it was the bumpiest ride I think I have ever been on!

The resort was really nice! There were 7 restaraunts that we could choose from, 2 served breakfast, 2 or 3 served lunch, and all served dinner. You had everything from an Grill & Pub to Carribean food to a Buffet that served different food each night. I think our favorite place was the pizza joint that they had that was open for lunch. I think by the week was done we had made our way to each 6 of the 7 restaraunts. I hate to say it but we ate very well while on our honeymoon! Now we just have to get those pounds we put on back off.

We chose to stay at Sandal's while on our honeymoon, everything was inclusive, the food and the drinks. We had a choice of whatever we wanted to drink. My favorite came from a recommendation from my cousin Elaina, it was what they call a BBC, Bailey's Banana and Cream. It was very tasty! Mike's favorite became and strawberry and banana daquiri, although he had some wine, beer and other stuff too! Each day we had a stocked bar by our concierge. Needless to say there wasn't always stuff to stock, we did enjoy some Champagne, after all, we were on our honeymoon!

Throughout our stay at Sandal's we took walks on the beach, swam in a couple of the swimming pools, we got in the ocean one day, but like the pool the water was pretty chilly. We were kind of surprised how cold it was. We played some table tennis. Thanks to Nicole, we enjoyed a couples massage on our first morning there, her wedding present to us! Thanks Nicole! We layed out by the pool and the beach, I even came back with a little color which is hard for a redhead! One of our last days we did an excursion where we had a cab driver take us on a tour of Antigua. We went from the Sandal's Resort to St. John even a little further south. We saw Nelson's Dockyard (which had some HUGE sailboats and we had some $8 grilled cheese sandwhiches), Eric Clapton's vacation home, we just barely missed seeing Pierce Brosnan, also we saw some kids playing Cricket so we had the cab driver explain to us the game (still don't totally understand). Another day, we had seen that they offered 20 min photo shoots at sunset for free, the shoots may have been free, but the photos weren't, but we figured this was once in a lifetime and some of the pictures really came out good (see a few of the ones at the top of the page). Not to mention most of the pictures that we were taking were either of me or Mike and of scenery, which don't get me wrong is beautiful! Got to love that pretty clear blue water!

We had a great time on our honeymoon, we got lots of rest and I have to say, it was kind of sad to come home and get back to the real world! I think we could have both stayed a few more days if not another week!

Married at last!

Well it's April 14th, and Mike and I are back from our Honeymoon and married! As most of you know, the wedding date was Saturday, March 28th of 2009.

On Thursday, March 26th, Mike and I packed up the car with all of the wedding stuff and Murphy and headed to Wilmington for the wedding weekend! After meeting much of our family down there, we unloaded the car, including Murphy into Mike's brother's condo. No, Murphy was not part of the wedding! Anyway, about 25 of us went to dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse called Hiro. It was a lot of fun! Then after dinner some of my cousins, Nicole, Mike's brother and friends all went bar hopping in downtown Wilmington. Admittedly, I had a little too much fun!

Friday morning, after having breakfast with my long lost cousin Jeff Jasper, Nicole and I headed to the Airport to pick up Anna Margaret. Mike was playing golf with a group of about 5 or 6. We headed back to the hotel to meet Shannon and the girls, Michelle, and Claudette to go to get our nails done! I had never had fake nails before, but they looked really good! After our manicures and pedicures, we headed back to Shell Island to get some rest and get ready for the Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner. At 5p, we all met to have Rehearsal, halfway through the rehearsal it started raining. I was hoping that this wasn't a sign for the day to come. Anyway, we carried the rehearsal inside and then headed to the Rehearsal Dinner. Dinner was great as well as the company! All of the wedding party liked their gifts, atleast I think they liked them. After a long night before, we all decided to call it an early night and prepare for the Big Day!

Saturday, Anna Margaret and I woke up and went downstairs to have breakfast, making sure to eat because we didn't know what the day had in store for me. I have to say, when we woke up Saturday morning, it was beautiful outside, ok, maybe not beautiful, but the sun was in and out. I had an appointment to get hair done at noon, with my soon to be mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law, and my bridesmaid Michelle. It rained while we were getting our hair done and I was hoping that would be it for the day! Unfortunately I was wrong. We were getting showers and getting ready for the ceremony and it was just cloudy, I thought the rain would hold off. About 230p or 3p, the wedding coordinator called me to tell me it was raining (they were setting up chairs on the beach for the ceremony) and it didn't look like it was going to stop according to the sky and the radar. As disappointed as I was, I really wanted to have the ceremony on the beach, I made the decision to have the ceremony inside! After all, they say it's good luck to have it rain on your wedding day. Oh yeah, did I mention that I was a bridesmaid short too? My sister Shelley who lives in Colorado had gotten snowed in after mother nature had dumped INCHES of snow so that she couldn't fly out. So besides having to have the ceremony inside and being a sister and a bridesmaid short, I was ready to get the show on the road! The ceremony started shortly after 4p, and all of the festivities followed. After the ceremony, it did stop raining long enough so that we could get some pictures on the beach! After the reception, Mike had arranged for a Limo to pick us up and take us for a ride, after we got back we spent our first evening together as Husband and Wife.

Sunday, Mike and I woke up early, so we tried to go walk on the beach before meeting family and friends for breakfast at 830a. As luck would have it, the walk was cut short due to rain, thunder and lightening, we took off running into the Resort. At 830a, we met family and friends for breakfast and then had to pack up cars to checkout. We, ok, maybe just me, were really sad that the wedding day had happened so quickly! Thanks to family and friends we got a lot of the moments on photo (if you have some pictures to send, I would REALLY appreciate it). About 1p, we were all packed up, got Murphy from Angelo's condo and were on our way to Greensboro to rest and repack for our honeymoon on Monday morning.
