Lots of Changes since February 2013!

Kyleigh with Back to School Haircut!
Well a LOT has happened since I last wrote!  Kyleigh has turned 3 AND 4!  She is getting so big and tall!  When I took her to the doctor for her 4 year appointment she was in the 60th percentile for height and weight.  She was brave and had 3 shots!  We took her out of her previous daycare as we are preparing her for her future.  She will be starting this school year at St. Raphael's in pre-k and she will be staying there until the upper grades!  She met her teachers the other week and is looking forward to a new start but will miss all of her friends from Preston Children's Academy!

I was laid off from my last job at the Staffing Agency I was working for in September of 2013.  I was texted from my supervisor on a Thursday afternoon to call her, when I did she informed me over the phone that that day was my last day working with Quality Staffing!  Honestly it was probably a blessing in disguise as I was starting to really have a lot of headaches.  I was out of work a little over a month where I made lots of connections and applied for a lot of jobs!  Finally, I got the opportunity to work a contract position at Verizon.  I was there about 2.5 months before I found out that they were ending all of the contractors.  I started looking even before my time ended.  I had 7 interviews lined up and several more phone interviews.  Out of the 7 interviews I had a phone interview and when I went for my face to face I was made an offer!  The offer was with A Wireless - A Verizon Premium Retailer as a Regional Recruiter!  I started the end of January and I am having a great time!  I work from home and I really love what I do!

Also, since the last time I wrote, Mike has switched jobs.  He was working for Wells Fargo and he has gotten a job with Verizon.  He started with them in November of last year!  He really likes it and he is doing really well at it!  He is also working on taking some classes as he is working on trying to get his Bachelors.  We are so proud of him and all he is doing!

Update on my CVT, my clot has not really diminished at all.  I have gone for scans and it is making a little improvement it has not gone away.  I am still on coumadin and have to continue to be until it goes away if it does.

Another update! We have a new addition to the family.  Mike went home to a family reunion last weekend in Pennsylvania and came home with a gift!  His name is Nitt short for Nittany!  He is a salt and pepper parti schnauzer!  When he came home with him he had an awful skirt on him.  Needless to say that didn't last long with me.  As you can see from the picture, the skirt lasted about 4 days!  He has adapted to us all very quickly and Kyleigh LOVES him as do all of us!  I don't think any of us realized how much we missed Murphy until we got Nittany!  He sure is a cutie!  I can't wait to get some good pictures of him and Kyleigh with my camera and share them!

Finally, on Tuesday I will have another niece!  Her name is Emma and she will need all of the prayers she can get as she will have to have open heart surgery a week after she is born as the valves to her heart are backwards.  This little girl is special already in all of our hearts!  Prayers over the next couple of weeks are greatly appreciated!

Well I think that is all of the updates that I have!  We miss all of you who we don't get to see on a regular basis!  We would love to see you all, so feel free to come for visits!

Happy 2013 plus some!

Wow, I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted.  Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Birthday's have all passed.  I hope every one is doing well!  We are doing well, we have moved into a new Town Home.  It is closer to work for me (a lot better commute for me) and a tad bit closer for Mike.  We get to spend more time with Kyleigh at night!  Speaking of Kyleigh, she is getting so big and even more fun!  She is now 2 1/2, is potty trained and is talking up a storm.  I tell you, this child is infatuated with Mickey Mouse!  Everything is Mickey or Minnie Mouse!  That is about all she got for Christmas!

Mike is doing well, hoping he gets promoted soon to a personal banker position!  He sure deserves it!  My job is going well, I really like it.  I enjoy the people I work with and love what I am doing!  I am also busy too selling Thirty One!  If you want to support me with the Thirty One I would appreciate it, just ask me how!

An update on my health.  I went back in in December for another MRA.  It was a very disappointing update, the clot had no significant change.  But hoping that things will get better and come June we get better news!

Please let us know how you are doing!

Love,
Suzanne, Michael and Kyleigh

Murphy's trip to Doggie Heaven

Murphy's Urn
Paw Print from the Vet School
On Tuesday morning July 24th we lost a friend and a companion!  As some of you know, Murphy had had diabetes for a little over 3 years!  He got insulin shots 2x a day.  While I was pregnant with Kyleigh he started having episodes that we weren't really sure what they were.  Then last year he started having seizures that weren't diabetic, we think they were epileptic seizures.  Now, where he was not every diagnosed with epilepsy, the vet thought they were probably epileptic seizures.  Tuesday, the 24th Murphy had a really bad seizure at about 5am in the morning.  Mike had commented that he didn't think Murphy had felt good the night before!  I tried to comfort Murphy the way I normally did, but he just didn't come out of it.  He pretty much lost the use of the back of his legs.  We laid there for a while and then I believe he started to seize again.  I knew that sending him to be with Grammy was the best thing to do.  It wasn't easy to do, but I knew it was best.  So we took him to the NC State Vet School where they put him to sleep.  The vet there said he was pretty much already gone by the time we got there so she went ahead and gave him the meds and Murphy passed in my arms.  Kyleigh was so good with him.  When we told her Murphy wasn't feeling well, she would give him kisses and hugs.  While it has been weird and an adjustment to not having Murphy around we are adjusting.  We think about him often, for example when we are getting ice cubes and he doesn't come running to get one.  We also think about him when Kyleigh spills food under her chair and there is no one to clean it up for us!  Most of all we miss the greeting that he used to give us when we would have been out or at work.  We loved him very much and he helped me through a lot of things both good and bad over the last 10 years!  We will miss him dearly!

Wow, didn't realize it has been so long!

Well I guess a lot has happened since January!  Mike started a new job at Wells Fargo where he is a teller.  I started a job with Quality Staffing, a staffing company in Cary.  I was contracting from home, but the State department I was working for closed.  I am enjoying working with Quality Staffing.  I have learned a lot in staffing!

What else has happened?  I went back to the doctor in June for an MRI/MRV.  Unfortunately the clot in my drainage veins was not gone, so that means 6 more months of Coumadin!  I was horribly disappointed, I was looking forward to not hearing the "quack, quack, quack" that my phone alarm makes every day telling me it's time to take my Coumadin.  Not to mention I was hoping to not have any more blood draws and easy bruising!  Oh well, I guess it could be worse!

Other things going on.  Kyleigh went from part time daycare to full time daycare.  We switched her from North Raleigh Church of Christ where she loved her teachers to The Legacy Academy where she spent 5 weeks.  We pulled her out of there because she was not acting like "Kyleigh", she would come home with scratches and no notes from the teachers among other issues.  After the 5 weeks we switched her to Preston Children's Academy where she started out with the Toddlers.  She was like a whole different child when we switched her.  Her learning curve went up, really quick!  We are really happy where she is now and feel like she is learning a lot!

Well the biggest thing that has changed is, Kyleigh has turned 2!  On June 23rd our little girl turned 2!  Where did the time go!  We had a birthday party with great friends and family who was able to make it!  I can't believe my baby girl is getting big, she is growing way too fast!  We took her to the doctor on Tuesday for her 2 year check up!  She was 20th percentile for her height, 45th percentile for her weight, and her head measured in in the 85th percentile!  Where she is growing up and learning to talk, I guess I can't say she is growing to fast physically!  :-)

We would love to see you all, please feel free to come visit us here in Raleigh.  I will try to do better with the updating!

Love to all!
